Welcome to the Petersfield Men’s Shed. We’re a group of men in the Petersfield area aiming to create an environment where men of all ages can come and socialise, join in workshop activities, learn new skills and enjoy a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
We want to achieve this by working together and using our collective practical, hands-on skills and life experiences to support local community and charitable projects as well as your own hobbies and interests. The benefits of the group are support, inclusion and good company.
The Men’s Shed is an international organisation set up originally in Australia in the 90’s to help alleviate potential isolation of men possibly caused by loneliness, retiring from work, bereavement or medical reasons. Today there are over 670 Men’s Sheds in the UK alone! The Petersfield Men’s Shed is a member of the UK Men’s Sheds Association.
Put simply; Our Men’s Sheds will be a space where local men can get together to share practical and creative skills, tools and enthusiasm in projects or just have a coffee together and chat. Each Men’s Shed is different, depending on the skills and the aspirations of its members.
