We are delighted to share fantastic news from the recent Petersfield Awards.
After being shortlisted in the Community Service category, Petersfield Men’s Shed was officially Commended by the judges. It is a huge honour to be recognised among the amazing people and organisations in our town.
Sarah and Peter attended the ceremony, representing the team to celebrate this achievement.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and support us. This recognition is a testament to the connection, creativity, and community we build together!
Did you wake up to a shiny new bicycle under the tree this Christmas? Or perhaps you’re looking to better protect the trusty bike you’ve had for years?
While a new bike is an exciting gift, the reality of bike theft can put a damper on the holiday spirit. We want to ensure your new wheels stay yours. That’s why we are hosting a free Bike Security Marking Event right after the holidays in Petersfield.
How Bike Marking Protects You
In just a few minutes, we can significantly increase the security of your bicycle using modern technology.
We will apply a specialized, tamper-resistant QR Code to your bike’s frame. This code links directly to a secured national police database containing your ownership details.
Why do this?
It’s a major deterrent: Thieves know that marked bikes are harder to sell and easier to identify. They often avoid them entirely.
It makes your bike traceable: If your bike is unfortunately stolen and later recovered by the Police anywhere in the country, they can scan the code in seconds to identify you as the owner and return it.

Pop down and join us to give your bike the best chance of staying safe. The process is quick, easy, and open to cyclists of all ages.

Following the success of our recent project installing owl boxes for the South Downs National Park (SDNP), we were delighted to be asked to help with a vital follow-up initiative.
While providing nesting sites is important, we learned that water sources can actually pose a significant danger to these birds. It is surprisingly common for owls to drown in cattle troughs when swooping down for a drink, as they are unable to climb back out of the steep, slippery sides.
To solve this, our team constructed wooden frames covered in wire mesh designed to float inside the troughs. This simple but effective design prevents the owls from becoming submerged while still allowing the cattle to drink freely through the mesh.
The frame featured in the photos below has been installed on Torberry Hill in South Harting. We are proud to continue our partnership with the SDNP and play a small part in preserving our local wildlife.
